Zhang Hongyan, mayor of Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, told the world that the northwestern Chinese oil city is ready for cooperation in her speech at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which concluded in Beijing on May 15.
Zhang shared the fruitful results brought from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a long-term, multi-dimensional mega-project between Pakistan and China. She also noted the city’s desire to further cooperate with countries along the Belt and Road.
The city saw 28 contracts, worth an estimated 62.57 billion yuan ($9.43 billion), signed during the Silk Road Economic Belt–Xinjiang Karamay Forum held last August.
